Karimun
Spend one night in Karimun to see Tanjung Balai town, Chinese temples and a beach; longer stays are for island-hopping only.
Karimun is a small port town on the biggest island of the Karimun Regency. With no airport, it is reached by ferry from Singapore, Malaysia or nearby Riau islands. The town’s market, temples and nearby beaches can be explored in a half-day; a full day allows a beach visit and a motorbike ride to the waterfall. Longer stays are only justified for multiple island trips.
