Karghilik
叶城
Skip Karghilik unless you are crossing Xinjiang by road: a 1-hour bus stop for Yarkand or a night en route to Khotan, not a destination.
Karghilik (Yecheng) is a dusty transit town at the southern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, 4 hours by bus from Kashgar and 5 from Khotan. It has no major sights and serves mainly as a refuelling stop on the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. Most travellers pass through in under an hour.
