Kabarnet
Kabarnet is a half-day stop for Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo, not a base: drive in from Nakuru, see the hot springs and lakes, then move on.
Kabarnet sits in the Tugen Hills above the Rift Valley floor, close to Lake Bogoria's boiling geysers and Lake Baringo's hippos and fish eagles. The town itself has little to detain you, but the two lakes and the Kerio Valley view from Kabarnet Hotel make it a worthwhile detour for a day or one night.
