Kabale
Spend 1–2 days in Kabale as a stop‑over for Lake Bunyonyi or nearby hikes; not a base for gorilla parks.
Kabale sits 420 km southwest of Kampala at 2,000 m altitude, a market town and transport hub on the road to Rwanda. It offers easy access to Lake Bunyonyi and short forest hikes, but the main gorilla parks are better reached from Kisoro. One to two days cover the lake, a local hike and town sights.
