WhatsApp voice and video calls have been restricted in Jordan at times. Messaging usually works; if calls fail, a VPN is the common workaround. For Arabic, Google Translate's offline Arabic pack and camera mode cover menus and signs; most people in tourism speak English, so translation is a backup rather than a necessity.
