Jingxi
靖西
Base in Jingxi town for 2 nights and charter a car: the canyon, waterfalls and springs sit 4–28 km out with no reliable public transport.
Jingxi is a county-level city in far southwest Guangxi, about 90 km south of Baise and roughly 200 km west of Nanning, close to the Vietnam border. It is a Zhuang-majority area of karst peaks, a deep canyon, a clear spring and autumn red-leaf forest. Sights are spread over 30 km, so a car and driver decide how much you see.

Get around
The town is small and walkable; taxis wait at the railway and bus stations rather than cruising, and city buses are few and irregular. Auto rickshaws and shared e-bikes cover short hops. For Tongling Grand Canyon, Goose Spring, Quyang Lake and Debao, charter a car or join a driver for the day — this is the single choice that decides your trip.

Scams and watch-outs
- Sights are 4–28 km apart with thin public transport: without a car you lose half a day per stop.
- Summer afternoons bring heavy thunderstorms; canyon paths and rafting can close after rain.
- Rafting and canyon tickets are sold on the day at higher prices than advance booking.
- Border areas to the south need your passport with you; stay on marked routes.
- English is rare outside hotels: have place names written in Chinese.
Low street crime; the real risks are mountain roads, summer storms and canyon paths after rain. Carry your passport near the border and keep hotel addresses in Chinese.
