Jingdezhen is the porcelain capital of China and, since 2026, a UNESCO-listed ceramics landscape. It is a working craft city, not a monument city: you come to see kilns, dig through markets and throw a pot yourself. Two nights covers the core; three lets you add Yaoli or Wuyuan.

Get around
Taxis are cheap and the easiest way between spread-out sights; the meter starts around ¥6 (check). City buses run frequently and cost about ¥1. Ride-hailing works if you have Alipay or WeChat Pay set up. Motorbike taxis are best avoided.

- Some cheaper hotels only accept mainland Chinese ID — check before booking.
- Summer is hot and wet; July and June are the rainiest months.
Jingdezhen is a low-crime city and safe to walk at night in the centre. The real risks are summer heat and rain, traffic when crossing, and paying for ceramics without agreeing the price or shipping first.
