Jekyll Island is a barrier island in Georgia's Golden Isles, reached only by the Downing Musgrove Causeway (GA-520) off US-17 near Brunswick. It is small, flat and bike-friendly, with about 8 km of beaches, a 25-mile path network and a restored Gilded Age club district. Two nights covers the highlights; three if you want golf, fishing or a slower beach day.

Get around
A car is the easiest way in and around, but once parked, bikes beat driving: 25-plus miles of flat paved paths link the beaches, Historic District and hotels. Rent from the Bike Barn, Beachside Bike Rentals or Jekyll Wheels, or from many hotels. Golf carts and electric vehicles are also rented on the island. Walking works for short hops; end to end on foot takes 3–4 hours.
