Jamnagar is a Gulf of Kutch port city in Saurashtra, once the capital of Nawanagar and still a brass-manufacturing town. Its old core around Lakhota Lake is walkable in half a day; the reason to add a night is the marine park and bird sanctuary offshore, which need a boat or a dawn start. It sits on the rail and road line between Rajkot and Dwarka, so most travellers pass through rather than stay.

Auto-rickshaws are the default for short hops; agree the fare before you get in. Local buses run from near the Town Hall and state buses reach the surrounding towns. For the marine park and Khijadiya you need a booked boat or a car and driver, not a city auto.
