Itzer
A half-day stop between Azrou and Midelt for the Saturday souq and a walk to the plateau; not a base unless you plan multi-day treks in the Middle Atlas.
Itzer is a small Middle Atlas town (population about 10,000) known for its Saturday souq, traditional Berber weaving and easy access to mountain walks. Most travellers pass through on the N13 between Azrou and Midelt; the town itself can be seen in a couple of hours. For trekkers, the surrounding forests, volcano and plateau offer day hikes or longer routes.
