Ito
伊東
Ito works as a one-night onsen stop on the Izu Peninsula, not a base: half a day for the coast and a hot spring bath, then move on.
Ito is a hot-spring town on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula, 1.5 h by limited express from Tokyo. The main draw is soaking in a bath with sea views, plus the nearby Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park coast. Most travellers use it as a single-night stop between Atami and Shimoda.
