Ithaca is a small Gratiot County seat of about 3,100 people on US-127, 35 minutes north of Lansing. Its draw is a compact National Register downtown — the 1902 Gratiot County Courthouse, the old fire hall, a handful of shops and cafés — plus Woodland Park and summer events. Get around
Walk. Downtown Ithaca is a few blocks along Business US-127 (E. Center St.), flat and easy on foot or by bike; sidewalks run through the city limits. A car is needed for Woodland Park, the fairgrounds, the country club and anything outside town — there is no local bus service.
