Iseo
Give Iseo 2 nights as a lake base: walk the old town, take the ferry to Monte Isola, and day-trip to Franciacorta wineries or Brescia.
Iseo is a small town on the southeast shore of Lake Iseo, between the Franciacorta wine hills and the Val Camonica. It is walkable in an afternoon, but the lake ferries, Monte Isola and the wine roads make it worth two nights. Most travellers arrive by train from Brescia in about 30 minutes.

Get around
The centre is small enough to walk in 15 minutes end to end. Bikes are the best way along the lakefront. Trains run about hourly to Brescia and up the Val Camonica to Edolo; buses reach Clusane and Cremignane but not on Sundays. Ferries link Iseo with Monte Isola, Sulzano, Sale Marasino, Marone, Lovere and Pisogne.

- The Church of San Silvestro is usually locked and in poor condition; do not plan around visiting inside.
- Lake ferries cut back sharply outside summer; check the last boat back from Monte Isola.
Iseo is a low-risk small town; the real issues are the last ferry back from Monte Isola, Sunday bus gaps, and swimming where no lifeguard is posted.
