Inta is a coal town in the Komi Republic, founded around 1940 and named from a Nenets word for a well-watered place; a Soviet corrective labour camp, Intalag, was based here. It sits on the Kotlas–Vorkuta railway and has a small airport with Komiaviatrans flights from Syktyvkar.
