Huntingdon is a small Cambridgeshire market town on the River Ouse, about 50 minutes by train from London King's Cross and 20 minutes from Peterborough. It is best known as Oliver Cromwell's birthplace and as a quiet, cheap alternative to staying in Cambridge. The town itself fills an afternoon; the draw is the surrounding villages, Houghton Mill and the racecourse.
