One night is enough for Hudson itself: a walkable 19th-century Main Street plus parks. Base here only if you want a quiet, cheaper bed for Akron or Cuyahoga Valley.
Hudson is a small Summit County city of about 23,000 people, roughly halfway between Akron and Cleveland on the Ohio Turnpike. Its draw is a compact historic downtown around the SR 91/SR 303 crossing — the clock tower, First and Main, restaurants and bars — with two large parks and Tinker's Creek State Park on the edge of town. It is a practical, low-cost base for Akron, Kent and Cuyahoga Valley National Park, not a destination you build a trip around.

Get around
A car is the default: the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) crosses town with an exit at SR 8, and SR 91 (Main St/Darrow Rd) runs north–south through the centre. Downtown itself is walkable in 10–15 minutes end to end. METRO, Akron's bus system, has a few stops in Hudson but service is thin — check schedules before relying on it.
