Horinger
和林格尔
Skip Horinger unless you have a specific interest in grassland ecology or horse culture: it is a 40-minute drive from Hohhot with two small paid sights and a free grass museum. Half a day is enough.
Horinger County (和林格尔县) sits southeast of Hohhot in south-central Inner Mongolia. Its main draws are the Auweimont Yuanma Cultural Ecotourism Zone (horse culture, ¥30), Nanshan Tourist Attractions (¥30) and the free Inner Mongolia Grass Museum. None of them takes more than 90 minutes. Most travellers use it as a quick side trip from Hohhot, not a destination.
