Hokuto
北杜市
One day is enough to see the historic Jindai cherry tree, a Silk Road museum and a whisky distillery; stay overnight only if you need a base for nearby Yamanashi sights.
Hokuto is a rural city spread over former towns, with few train stations and most attractions reachable by car. The main points of interest – the ancient Jindai-zakura, Hirayama Silk Road Museum and Hakushu Distillery – can be visited in a single day, making a short stay practical for a Yamanashi itinerary.
