Helmsley

Helmsley is a small North Yorkshire market town on the southern edge of the North York Moors, with a ruined castle in the middle and Rievaulx Abbey three miles west. Buses reach it from York, Scarborough and Pickering, but the countryside sights need a car or a long walk.
