Hauran is a volcanic plateau in southern Syria, best known for its Roman ruins at Bosra, the Druze towns of As-Suwayda and the fertile plains around Deraa. The region is compact enough that you can sleep in Damascus and visit each area as a day-trip. Security conditions vary; check current travel advice before planning.
