Hartford is Connecticut's capital and one of the oldest cities in the US, founded in 1635. Its draw is a tight cluster of literary and museum sights — the Mark Twain House, the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and the Wadsworth Atheneum, the country's oldest public art museum.
