Get around
A car is the practical choice: sights and hotels are spread along I-90, I-80/94 and Calumet Avenue, and sidewalks are patchy. The South Shore Line runs from Chicago's East Loop to Hammond station at 4531 Hohman Avenue. Amtrak's Wolverine stops at Hammond-Whiting in the Robertsdale neighbourhood. Local buses exist but are slow; rideshare and taxis cover short hops.
