Halisahar
হালিশহর
Skip Halisahar unless you have family or business there: it is a commuter town on the Hooghly with no tourist sights. A half-hour stop on the Sealdah–Naihati line is enough to see the station and riverbank.
Halisahar is a dense residential and industrial town on the Hooghly River, part of the Kolkata suburban rail network. It has no heritage buildings, markets or parks that draw travellers. Most visitors pass through on the way to Naihati or Barrackpore. The town is safe and functional but offers nothing that justifies a detour.
