Hakui
羽咋
Half a day, or skip unless you are driving the Noto coast. The UFO Museum and a beach drive are the only draws; Kanazawa has more to offer.
Hakui is a small city on the coast between Kanazawa and the Noto Peninsula. Its main claim to fame is the UFO Museum, which documents local sightings and includes an 'alien autopsy' display. Most travellers pass through on the way to Nanao or Wajima, and a stop of two to three hours is enough unless you want to drive on the beach or catch the September sumo festival.
