Guysborough
Give Guysborough one night if you are driving the Eastern Shore; two nights only if you want the golf, the distillery and a Liscombe day. No car, no trip.
Guysborough is a village of about 900 people on Chedabucto Bay, the administrative seat of the Guysborough district and a stop on the Marine Drive between Antigonish and Canso. It is small: a courthouse museum, a brew pub, a distillery and a golf course, with the coast and the wilderness areas around it doing most of the work. It suits drivers, not bus passengers.

Get around
A car is effectively required: sights, the campground and the coast are spread along Highway 16 and Highway 7. The village core itself is walkable in 10–15 minutes. Fuel up in Antigonish or Canso before the quieter stretches.
