Get around
Boda-boda (motorcycle taxis) are the quickest way around town; agree the fare before you ride. Taxis (shared minibuses) run along main roads. Walking is fine in the centre during daylight. For longer trips, buses and shared taxis leave from the main bus park.

Language
English is the official language and widely spoken by anyone who went to school. Swahili is also official and useful with police and in the east; around Kampala, Luganda is the daily language. Over 40 local languages are spoken.
