Gujo
Spend 1–2 days: castle, museum, sample village, onsen and night‑time Gujo Odori; walkable centre, bike rentals available.
Gujo, known as Gujo Hachiman, is a small historic city in Gifu Prefecture. Its castle town is a 20‑minute walk from the station and can be explored on foot or by rental bike. Highlights include the reconstructed Gujo Hachiman Castle, local history museum, food‑sample workshops, the Gujo Odori dance festival (mid‑July to early September) and the "Center of Japan" onsen. One night is enough for the main sights; a second night lets you enjoy the night‑time dance and onsen at a relaxed pace.
