Grömitz
Go for 2–3 nights if you want a Baltic beach base with a Strandkorb, a spa pass and short hops to Lübeck; skip if you want city sights.
Grömitz is a small Baltic Sea resort town in East Holstein, a sea spa since 1949 and the most visited resort on Schleswig-Holstein's Baltic coast. There is no train station and no airport: you arrive by bus from Neustadt in Holstein or by car on the B501. The draw is an 8 km beach, a pier with boat trips, a spa park and a public wave pool, plus the monastery village of Cismar inland. Two or three nights covers it; most people come for a week of beach time in summer.

Get around
The promenade, spa gardens and pedestrian centre are walkable end to end in about 20 minutes. Local buses run to Cismar and the surrounding villages; the state transit authority Nah SH publishes timetables and tickets. Bicycles are the practical way to reach Lensterstrand and Cismar — the Baltic Sea Cycle Route (EuroVelo 10) passes through town. A car helps for day trips; parking near the beach fills early in summer.
