Great Yarmouth is a classic English seaside resort at the mouth of the River Yare, about 32 km from Norwich and close to the Norfolk Broads. It draws around 5 million visitors a year, mostly for the sandy beach, two piers and the free-entry Pleasure Beach. The town also has a quieter heritage side: a medieval town wall second only to York's, row houses and the Time and Tide Museum. Most travellers use it as a 1–2 night base or a day trip from Norwich.

The seafront and town centre are walkable in 20–30 min. Local buses run along Marine Parade and to the suburbs; Great Yarmouth station has trains to Norwich on the Wherry Line. Parking is plentiful along Marine Parade and in the town centre, from about £1 per hour in summer (2026 estimate).
