Grândola

Grândola is a small inland town in the Baixo Alentejo, about 1 h 20 min south of Lisbon by train, and the gateway to the Atlantic coast at Tróia, Comporta and Melides. The town itself is quiet and cheap; the coast is where the money and the crowds are. Most travellers use it as a beach base in summer or a one-night stop on the Lisbon–Algarve line.
