Gößweinstein
Half a day is enough: see the castle and basilica, eat trout, then move on. One night if you want to hike the Wiesent valley.
Gößweinstein is a small Franconian village built above the Wiesent river, known for its hilltop castle and the baroque Basilica of the Holy Trinity. It works as a half-day stop between Bayreuth and Bamberg, or as a base for hiking in Franconian Switzerland.
