Goose Green

Skip unless you are a Falklands War history buff or need a stop on the way to Port Howard: half a day from Stanley, or one night at Stone Cottage.

Goose Green is a quiet settlement of about 40 people on East Falkland, best known for the 1982 Battle of Goose Green. The main draw is the small war memorial and the surrounding landscape. Most travellers use it as a lunch stop on the drive between Stanley and Port Howard, or as a base for one night if they want to explore the Darwin area.
