Golden
Skip Golden unless you have a boat or a fishing rod: it's a tiny lakeside hamlet with two resorts and no town centre. Half a day for a swim or a meal, then move on.
Golden is a speck on the Missouri–Arkansas border, population 280, with Table Rock Lake as its only draw. There is no downtown, no grocery store and no gas station. The two resorts cater to anglers and boaters. Most travellers should treat it as a lunch break between Branson and Eureka Springs, not a destination.
