Ghazni
Skip unless you are a dedicated history traveller: the minarets and citadel are worth a half-day stop on the Kabul–Kandahar road, but the city has no tourist infrastructure.
Ghazni is a small city on Highway 1 between Kabul and Kandahar, known for its 11th-century Ghaznavid minarets, a ruined citadel and a small museum. The sights are few and the city lacks hotels and restaurants aimed at foreign travellers. Most visitors pass through in a few hours.
