Ghanpur
ఘన్పిర్
Half a day: see the 12th-century temples and Pandavula Guhalu caves. Not a base — combine with Bhadrachalam or Warangal.
Ghanpur is a small village in East Telangana with two draws: a group of 12th-century stone temples and the Pandavula Guhalu rock shelters, inhabited since the Mesolithic age (about 10,000 years ago). The caves were declared a geological heritage site by the Geological Survey of India. The forest department runs rock-climbing and stargazing activities here. Most visitors stop for a few hours on the way to Bhadrachalam or Warangal.
