Gdynia is a 1920s planned port city, not an old town: modernist streets, two museum ships on the wharf, a sandy city beach and the Orłowo cliff. It sits 25 km from Gdańsk airport and links to Gdańsk and Sopot by frequent SKM commuter trains, so most travellers use it as a 1–2 night stop inside a Tricity trip rather than a separate base.
