Gadiara
গাদিয়াড়া
Half a day or a picnic afternoon: see the Hooghly-Rupnarayan confluence, the ruins of Fort Mornington at low tide, then leave. Not a base.
Gadiara is a quiet river village 50 km south of Howrah, at the confluence of the Hooghly and Rupnarayan rivers. The main draw is the wide river view and the ruined British fort that appears at low tide. Most visitors come for a few hours, not an overnight stay.
