Fuxin
阜新
Skip Fuxin unless you have a specific reason (coal-mining history, Ruiying Temple). One night is enough; most travellers pass through on the way to Jinzhou or Chaoyang.
Fuxin is a small industrial city in northwest Liaoning, 147.5 km from Shenyang. Its main draws are the Ruiying Buddhist Temple (Tibetan-style, 22 km southwest), the Haizhou open-pit mine, and a few historic pagodas. Most visitors use it as a transit stop between Shenyang and western Liaoning.
