The honest verdict

Funafuti is a strip of coral only a few hundred metres wide, with the lagoon on one side and the ocean on the other. There is one runway, a handful of guesthouses, motorbikes for transport and almost no card payments. Four short clusters cover a first visit on foot or by motorbike, and the trip is paced by the few weekly flights from Suva, not by the sights.
