Fu'an
福安
Half a day: stop for a tea break and a walk through the old town on the way between Fuzhou and Ningde. Not a destination on its own.
Fu'an is a county-level city in northeast Fujian, known for its tea (especially the famous Tanyang Gongfu), a compact old town with She minority culture, and a few temples and ancestral halls. Most travellers pass through on the high-speed rail line between Fuzhou and Shanghai. The city is not a tourist hub: a 3–4 hour stop is enough to see the main sights and taste the local tea.
