Give Exmouth one full day for the beach and Orcombe Point, two if you walk the coast path to Budleigh Salterton; base in Exeter if you want nightlife.
Exmouth is a seaside town at the mouth of the Exe estuary in East Devon, with a two-mile sandy beach and the western start of the Jurassic Coast. It is small, walkable and easy to reach by train from Exeter in about 35 minutes. Most travellers come for a beach day, a coast-path walk or a boat trip, not for a long stay.
