Eswatini sits between South Africa and Mozambique, and its prices track the cheaper end of South Africa. The table below is per person per day, sharing a room at mid-range and comfort, with a rental car split between two people. It is a 2026 estimate.

The jump from backpacker to mid-range is mostly transport. Kombis are cheap but slow and thin on the ground outside Manzini and Mbabane; a rental car unlocks the reserves and the Ezulwini Valley, and costs US$20–40 a day per person once split. Travel in the dry winter months (roughly May to September) if you want the lowest lodge rates and the best game viewing; the Umhlanga reed ceremony in late August or early September pushes demand and prices up in the Ezulwini Valley, so book early or avoid those dates.
