Elburg
Give Elburg half a day plus one night if you sleep here: the walled grid is 15 minutes across on foot, and most visitors arrive as a stop between Zwolle and Harderwijk.
Elburg is a small fortified town on the Veluwemeer, rebuilt on a grid plan around 1392 with its square moat and walls still standing. The old centre is compact and walkable in an hour or two, so it works as a half-day stop on the Veluwe or a quiet one-night base. There is no train station in town: you arrive by bus from 't Harde or by car on the A28.

Get around
Walk. The walled centre is a grid roughly 400 m across and takes about 15 minutes end to end. Bikes are the practical way to reach the shore, the campsites and 't Harde station (about 20 minutes). Local buses stop at Elburg Centrum.
