Eisenhüttenstadt

Eisenhüttenstadt is a planned 1950s industrial town, built as Stalinstadt to house workers at the iron works, and its uniform Stalinist-era centre is the reason to come. The old district of Fürstenberg, on the Oder, adds a brick church and a small-town core. One day covers both; most travellers pass through by regional train from Berlin, Cottbus or Frankfurt an der Oder.
