Eastman
Go for one night, two at most: a spa stop with village food and free valley trails. Without a car you lose half the day to two buses a day.
Eastman is a village of about 1,700 people in the Eastern Townships, 115 km southeast of Montreal off Autoroute 10, built around a resort spa of the same name. The draw is the spa, the Missisquoi North valley trails and a short main street of cafés and pastry shops. Most travellers pass through in a day or sleep one night; two nights only if you add spa time and a hike.

Get around
A car is the practical choice: the spa, the trails and the village are spread out and the nearest taxi companies are in Magog. Limocar runs two direct buses a day from Montreal (about 3 h, about $35) and two a day from Bromont (about 35 min, about $16), with five a day Montreal–Bromont. Trails are on foot only; cell reception in the Missisquoi valley is intermittent.
