Eastbourne is a Victorian seaside town at the eastern end of the South Downs, about 110 km from London and 1 h 20 min–1 h 45 min by direct train from London Victoria. The seafront is quiet compared with Brighton, and the main draw is the chalk-cliff coast at Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. The centre is walkable: station to pier is about 15 min on foot. Stagecoach runs town services (1, 1A, 2, 3, 5, 5A, LOOP) and country routes; a local day rover ticket covers the Eastbourne zone.
