Dundee is a small east Polk County town of about 3,000 people on U.S. 27 and S.R. 17, between Winter Haven and Lake Wales. There is no hotel strip and no downtown to wander for hours: the draw is a restored railroad depot, a citrus candy factory with a free look at the line, two antique stops on the highway, and a large state preserve on the Lake Wales Ridge a short drive east. Treat it as a half-day add-on to a Winter Haven or Lake Wales stay, not a destination of its own.

Get around
A car is the only realistic option. U.S. 27 and S.R. 17 cross the town, and S.R. 542 runs west to Winter Haven. There is no useful local bus, and the depot, the candy factory and the preserve are 2–8 mi apart. Parking is free and easy everywhere in town.
