Dryden
One night is enough: Dryden is a Trans-Canada Highway stop between Kenora (1 h 45 min) and Thunder Bay (3 h 45 min), not a destination on its own.
Dryden is Ontario's smallest incorporated city, on the north shore of Wabigoon Lake about 140 km east of Kenora. It grew as a paper-mill town from 1910 to 2008 and now works as a highway and rail break, with fishing, hunting and lake country around it. The town itself is small: a museum, a beach, a ski hill and a moose statue at the visitor centre. Most travellers sleep one night and drive on.
