Dreieich
Skip Dreieich as a destination: it's a commuter suburb 10 km south of Frankfurt. Use it only for a budget airport hotel or a quiet walk in Dreieichenhain's old quarter.
Dreieich is a cluster of five former villages 10 km south of Frankfurt. The main draw is Dreieichenhain, a small Altstadt with half-timbered houses and the ruins of Burg Hayn, a Salian-era castle. Most visitors only pass through for the Mercure near the airport or a meal at the Faselstall. Half a day covers the old quarter; otherwise it's a bedroom community.
