Dongtai
东台
Half a day for the pagoda and salt history, or skip if you are short on time: Dongtai is a quiet coastal city with a few cultural sites, best as a stop between Yancheng and Nantong.
Dongtai sits on the central Jiangsu coast, known historically for salt production. The main draw is the Haichunxuan Pagoda, a national-level protected site, plus several Ming and Qing-era buildings. Most travellers pass through on the way to Yancheng or Nantong; the city itself is compact and quiet.
